Summer Skies

I think I may have an obession with clouds. With all the wonderful weather we have been having recently, I have taken exactly too many photos of the things, to the point that I now have hundreds of images on my laptop.

Having put perhaps too much thought into it, I have come to the conclusion that they are so interesting because they are a boundary that we will never be able to explore. Want to sail across the world? Build a ship. Want to journey to the stars? Build a more complicated ship. Want to explore the valleys and mountains of the clouds? You could go up in plane, but that’s not really, truly, exploring this strange world.

The thing about clouds, especially the cumulus clouds that feature in these three photos, is that while they looks solid and material, they are actually empty and ethereal. This world is one we will never explore. But we can look all we want.

Despite this, I was able to pick out three of my favourites to post in this set.
